Summer Fine Arts
Beginning Strings – $15
This course is for students who have never played an instrument before.

Classes are 55 minutes in length, Tuesday through Thursday; students should plan to attend all three classes each week for the duration of the course. There will be sessions available mornings, afternoons and evenings, and will be filled on a first-come/first served basis as students register. This will be a fun ensemble experience helping students get ready to play in the middle school orchestra in the fall! Classes are 55 minutes in length, Tuesday through Thursday; students should plan to attend all three classes each week for the duration of the course. The 5th grade orchestra teachers will provide class information to the students after Spring Break. Classes will be offered at Bradford High School and Tremper High School. Cost is $15. The 黑料社区 Cadet Band will give students the opportunity to play in an ensemble and keep their musical skills sharp. The goal of this program is to help foster students鈥 love of music-making and provide the enjoyment that comes with playing music together with others. We will focus on the idea of 鈥渆nsemble playing鈥 to make sure each student is ready for 6th grade, where they will get to perform with an ensemble everyday! Classes will meet Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for one 90-minute session each day from 1-2:30 p.m. at Mahone Middle School. Sectional classes, where each instrument group will get to work with a professional on their instrument, will be integrated into the rehearsal schedule. The 黑料社区 Continental summer band provides students the opportunity to play in a concert ensemble setting while keeping their musical skills sharp. The goal of this program is to foster students鈥 love of music-making and the enjoyment that comes with playing music with others. Classes meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1-3:30 p.m. at Mahone Middle School. Total registration for the program is $20, the optional trip on July 16 to Noah鈥檚 Ark ($30) at the end of the program is not included in the cost of registration. The 黑料社区 Rambler summer band will give students the opportunity to play in an ensemble and keep their musical skills sharp. The goal of this program is to help foster students鈥 love of music-making and provide the enjoyment that comes with playing music with other students. Classes will meet Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1-4 p.m. at Indian Trail High School. Performances will include concerts and parades. There is a mandatory overnight band camp at Carthage from June 12-14. The base cost for Rambler Band is $175, with an extra cost for marching shoes and the season-end trip to Noah’s Ark, totaling $240. Band Boosters provides scholarships for students who qualify. The 黑料社区 BLACK WATCH summer band provides students the opportunity to play in a large concert ensemble and march in area parades. The goal of this program is to help foster student鈥檚 love of music-making and provide the enjoyment that comes with playing music together with other students. Classes will meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. at Indian Trail High School and Academy, with spring rehearsals from 6-8 p.m. on Monday May 12, May 19 and June 2. All students must attend a mandatory, overnight band camp at Carroll University June 12-15. Base cost is $200, with an extra cost for marching shoes and the season-end trip to Noah’s Ark. The Kenosha Recreation Summer Color Guard program is open to all students with an interest in contemporary pageantry arts. The color guard experience will focus on equipment fundamentals (flag, rifle and sabre), dance and movement basics, and preparation of a program to present at the summer Ice Cream Social event in July. The color guard will also support Rambler Band and Band of the Blackwatch with their parade experiences. All interested students should plan to attend our pre-season spin sessions from 6-9 p.m. at Kenosha School of Language (KSOL) Gym on May 5, 12, 19; June 2. KYPAC – Presenting Disney’s Dare to Dream Jr.

KYPAC (Kenosha Youth Performing Arts Company) is a summer musical theater program designed for students entering first grade through ninth grade. Students will go from PROCESS to PRODUCT, developing life skills through the study of acting, dance, music and movement.
